Hi there, I have a problem with the overcurrent protection on 5S connected to Arylic amp 2.1. In between the out and in of the amp there's a small multimeter and illuminated switch. Having the charching plug connected there's no issue starting up. Switch works, as well as Multimeter showing current output voltage. Standalone without charger I most of the time do not get the output enabled, Switch shortly enlightens and then protection mode is activated. I've read also from other users having this issue. Now I would need to plug in the charger to start the system. Batteries are fine and fully charged.

Hi.

It's because our battery board is designed with high sensitivity.

Please kindly try the following way.

Connect battery board with your amplifier board at first, after all the connections are done, connect battery board with a power supply to activate it.

If there is still problem, please send an email to store@sure-electronics.com. We will reply to you as soon as we receive the email.

Hi, I would like to know if I can connect all outputs to one thicker wire? I've read that all distinct outputs share the same circuit output correct?

Hi.

If you are saying about amplifier board output, it's not suggested to connect all outputs to one wire. Because the voltage level of each output is different, which may lead to short circuit and incurred amplifier burnout.

Hello I would like to use the cascading mode. With which boards can I use this mode? "Only" with another JAB5? Thanks

Hello.

JAB5 provides an I2S signal output, which can be delivered to an amplifier board supporting I2S input.

So, you can connect JAB5 with an I2S amplifier board as well, such as WONDOM 2X30W-TAS5754.

Hello, I have a jab2-100 mono amplifier. What is the best way to modify the volume using a single potentiometer? Connect it between Rin and Rout (voltage divider on J11, pin 4-5-6)? With Lin and Lout short-circuited (J11, pin 1-2)? Thanks for your help. Also, what is the output voltage and current for the LEDs? Regards

Hello.

LOUT & ROUT is output, LIN and RIN is input.

You can divide the voltage between L/ROUT and GND, after that, transfer the signal to L/RIN. In this way, volume control is achieved.

The voltage and current for Bluetooth LED is 3.3V and 10mA.

The voltage and current for both charging and power LED is supply voltage and 10mA.

Is the signal detection function on the JAB5 $X100 board implemented in hardware on the board or must it be programmed though the DSP to function? If this is a DSP function, Is there example code available? Thanks

Hi.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

Signal level sensor system of JAB5 consists of software part and hardware part.

Software part mainly functions as noise suppression. We have set a signal level threshold and a trigger time in the DSP program. The signal threshold and trigger time can be modified through SigmaStudio. You can download the Demo program of JAB5 on our website and find the "Signal Detection" section for modification.

As for the hardware part, JAB5 will enter into standby mode when there is no signal detected for 5min. If you want to turn off this funciton, please short circuit "+5V" and "RST" of J3 on JAB5.

Thanks for replying to the questions about the AA-AB33182 4x100W amplifier in an automotive application. The question was what is the maximum input signal (music power) allowed at the input of the amplifier, not the rail voltage. Is it 0.735V (0.52/0.707)? Seems rather low. Thanks.

Hi.

The 0.52V is the RMS input sensitivity, with which as input signal, this amplifier board will deliver full output power.

The input sensitivity is low because this amplifier board features high gain settings.

These questions AA-AB33182 4x100W amplifier in an automotive application. The user manual lists the input sensitivity as 0.520 Vrms. Most modern USA car radios have outputs up to 4 Vpk on their RCA line level outputs to external amplifiers. This would require an additional and variable voltage control circuit - a potentiometer- to match these with this amplifier, correct? Is there an existing accommodation on the amplifier for that, or do users have to add it externally? What should the value be, and are there any adverse effects from adding this pot? Should this be a linear or logarithmic type? Assuming linear would be OK because the radio volume control should already be logarithmic. Finally, what is the absolute maximum input voltage (RMA) for this amplifier? Thanks.

Hi.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

if you want to use this amplifier board in an automotive application, an external potentiometer would be required.

10k resistance would be enough to reduce input impedance. Linear is OK since it's used to divide the voltage rather than adjust the volume.

The maximum supply voltage for this amplifier is 30V.

Hi, I seem to have an issue with the ICP5 programming board I ordered from your shop. I have followed the instructions for the board for programming the JAB5 and JAB3 amplifiers. When the ICP5 board is connected to my computer the error led is on all the time. I have tried reconnecting, reinstalling drivers. In sigma studio the connection is active but programming fails to connect. I have the same results with both JAB5 and JAB3. I have also followed the instructions for updating the firmware of ICP5 with the software miumax, but the update never initializes. Since the error led is in all instances I think there has to be an issue with the programming board itself. Do you have any suggestions on what I could try?

Hi.

We are willing to help you solve the problem.

Here is a video tutorial of how to upgrade firmware of ICP5. Please pay attention to the switches settings.

I have a problem with my two PCPB4 boards. I have now tested several 26650 cells and my two BCPB4 boards switch off, although 2 of the 4 led's are still flash.

Hi.

Please kindly check the voltage of your 5pcs batteries to ensure there is no battery under voltage or over voltage.

Besides that, the power supply used to activate the battery board should be 5-24V with 2A or higher current.

If there is still problem, please kindly take a clear picture of your battery board and send it to us so that we can check if there is any component damage.

Good morning, I have to build a 6.1 system with 2 cascading jab5 boards placed in a waterproof box outside in the garden. Due to the placement limitation, i need to know the max working temperature of the boards before the thermal protection intervention. To maintain a coolest enviroment it'll be possible to drive both boards at 24V DC intead of 34V without funcionality losses? What is the max RMS output power 24V DC @ 8ohm? To have a fully funcional 6.1 system, i'll to buy n.2 jab 5 + 1 functional cables kit and no further DSP programming is required? Tks in advance for your answer.

Hello.

Thank you for your interest in our products.

1. The ambient temperature needs to be lower than 50℃. It'd be better if the waterproof box supports good ventilation for high output power.

2. You can use 24V to power JAB5. The functions will not be affected but the output power would be lower.

3. The max RMS output power under 24V@8Ohm condition is about 36W.

4. No further DSP programming is required.

hey dear service technician team, i have a question for the jab 5 board: the pdf said: Idle Power: 36V Signal detected - 9.2 W =means:When the board is switched on and there is a BT connection, approx. 250mA are already consumed, is that correct? that's not exactly little for a class d - battery project does "being switched on" mean a Bluetooth connection or a pure audio signal? I hope you can help me best regards michael

Hello, michael.

1. When there is no signal detected for 5min, audio amplifier board will enter standby mode, the power consumption is 0.36W. When there is signal and amp is activated, the idle power is 9.2W.

2. Usually, amplifier will be activated after Bluetooth is connected. However, if no signal is fed from Bluetooth for 5min, amp will enter standby mode and the power consumption is 0.36W.

3. Connecting with Bluetooth or Using 3.5mm AUX to play music can make amplifier activated. The activating state of Bluetooth depends on audio source device.

Can the JAB5 4X100 amplifier be configured to drive a 2ohm load? (Dual 4ohm voice coil woofer wired in parallel)

Hi.

It's not suggested to use JAB5 to drive a 2Ohm load, which will produce high current and JAB5 may enter into overcurrent protection mode.

The minimum load JAB5 can drive is 3Ohm.
