Description

It is a dual channel Class D audio amplifier board producing 8 W per channel of output into 8 Ohm load. It employs a Tripath-style Texas Instruments TPA 3110 chip to achieve high efficiency. Its excellent self-dissipation eliminates the need for an external heatsink when playing music under average listening conditions, making it perfect for hi-fi applications. The module dissipates only 0.3W with no signal when in ON mode (around 0.006W when in stand-by). Its reliability and longevity is ensured by a variety of protection including over/under voltage protection, over current protection and over temperature protection. Integration of high-quality SMD and MKP plug-in capacitors ensures hi-fi amplification output. It supports PBTL and BTL configuration and supports both differential input and single-ended input.

Can this handle a 4 ohm load

Hi, Gabe. If you use this board in stereo mode, we suggest that you use it with 8Ohm load since the typical load is 8Ohm and in this condition, it can reach full output power. When you use it to handle 4Ohm load, the output power will be less than 8W per channel. If you use this board in mono mode, it is OK to handle 4Ohm load.
